PWR-C1-BLANK Cisco Blank Power Supply Slot Cover for Catalyst 3850 Switch

The Cisco PWR-C1-BLANK power supply blank slot cover is primarily deployed in enterprise networking environments where Catalyst 3850 switches are used. It is essential for IT professionals managing rack-mounted switches in data centers, campus networks, and branch offices that require controlled airflow and dust mitigation to maintain equipment reliability.

How It's Used:

• Installed in enterprise data centers to maintain optimal cooling paths within Catalyst 3850 racks by blocking unused power supply bays.
• Used by network administrators in campus networks to prevent dust ingress and airflow disruption in partially populated switch chassis.
• Applied in remote office setups where Catalyst 3850 switches operate in less controlled environments, ensuring internal components remain protected.
• Deployed during phased hardware upgrades to secure open power supply slots and avoid thermal inefficiencies in active network equipment.
• Utilized in virtualization environments that rely on Catalyst 3850 switches to ensure consistent system performance by maintaining proper chassis airflow.

By closing empty power supply slots, the PWR-C1-BLANK helps sustain effective thermal management and system cleanliness, supporting consistent operation and scalability in diverse networking deployments. This simple component contributes to protecting hardware investments and reducing maintenance overhead in complex IT infrastructures.
